Book 224

Emily Giffin "The One and Only"

I haven't been reading much lately... the daily responsibilities of life can take over and not leave much to reading time. So here we are... started again. And a good one to start with. Loved this book... sucked me right back in.

Book 223

Bill Keegan "Closure"

I read this when it first came out... not sure I understood the magnitude of what I was reading. This time through was much harder. Picturing my dad... knowing he was one of the men in the story. Knowing the story was real. It's a lot to take in. But I'm glad there's a permanent record of the work my dad did. He deserves that.

Book 222

Jojo Moyes "One Plus One"

Loved reading this. Stayed up ridiculously late finishing it but so worth it. You instantly connect with the characters and she makes you cry. Win.

Book 221

Janet Evanovich "Top Secret Twenty One"

Cute... stories are predictable now but I kinda like it.

Book 218

Jane Green's Tempting Fate

So good I stayed up incredibly late last night... fell asleep twice with Kindle in hand so I had to put it down and give in to the sleep monster.

I love her writing, her characters and the way you always feel so good when you finish reading her stories.

Book 217 didn't happen like that

Well I didn't finish reading that book and then I didn't read at all for a while. We got a new Tablet... so yeah.

I no longer want to keep track of the exact  number of days.

I read Lisa Scottoline "Keep Quiet". Lisa and I went to her book signing in Exton and we got to see her right before her mother died. So sad.. this was a good book.

No motivation on this Monday so I thank G-d for Kindle cloud reader because I read this book all afternoon.

Book 216 Done

Day 1260
JJ Abrams and Doug Dorst "S"

So good... I actually finished this a while ago but I was being lazy and not posting. This was really good... I cannot wait to read it again at some point to figure out some clues I missed. Reading books has always been a passion of mine (hence the blog) but I super appreciate someone coming up with a new way to read. A book with notes in the margin, inserts (including letters, pictures, napkins) that go with the story. So so good.

Book 216

Day 1248
JJ Abrams and Doug Dourst "S"

A friend told me about this book. Sounds really interesting. You are reading a fictional book that was written in the 40s. You are also reading notes and inserts between a college student and a graduate student that are trying to figure out a mystery surrounding the author. Pretty neat huh?

Book 215 and Done

Day 1248
Jacob Tomsky "Heads in Beds"

A memoir from a guy who has worked in hotels for years. Interesting stories and some good tips for getting free things at a hotel.

Book 214 Done

Day 1242
Jen Lancaster "Twisted Sisters"

A little weird but very funny... especially if you grew up with a sister.

Book 214 part deux

Day 1238

I never finished that other book and the library took it back. I wasn't particularly upset about that. Then I took a break from reading and now I'm back about a month later.

Jen Lancaster "Twisted Sisters"
Love her and this is the second novel she wrote. Ready to dive in...

Book 214

Day 1206
Claire Messed "The Woman Upstairs"

I remember ripping the review out of People because it sounded good.... really enjoying taking out books from the library on mg Kindle and starting the new year with lots of reading.

Book 213 Done

Day 1206

Weird. Twisted. Good.

I'll read everything she puts out.

Friday, January 3, 2014

Book 212

Day 1202
Kristin Hannah "Summer Island"

I thought I read all her books but this one doesn't sound familiar.

Happy New Year! Hoping to get through a lot of books this year.

Book 211 Done

Day 1202
Adam Wilson "flat screen"

Weird. Just weird. Lots of disjointed sentences. Ramblings that don't quite make sense but might to a bunch of creative writing people.
